Join the team at Hoosac Valley High School as a Chemistry Teacher, with opportunities to teach Advanced Placement courses. At Hoosac Valley High School, we are committed to creating engaging learning experiences and fostering a supportive environment where both students and staff thrive. We are seeking an educator who is passionate about science instruction, student-centered learning, and collaboration with colleagues. The successful candidate will: Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated; Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students; Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students; Guide the learning process toward achievement of established curriculum goals and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects; Prepare for classes as assigned and employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media appropriate to student needs; Strive through instruction and professional practice to implement district instructional goals, objectives, and performance expectations; Assess student learning on a regular basis, provide progress reports as required, and communicate with families as needed; Maintain accurate, complete, and current records; Diagnose learning challenges and collaborate with district specialists when appropriate; Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities; Follow established administrative policies and develop fair and consistent classroom expectations; Maintain an ongoing program of professional growth and continuous improvement; Attend school-sponsored activities and events consistent with the teachers' contract; Contribute to district and building-level discussions regarding curriculum, budget, facilities, and school culture; Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and strengthen the school community.
