Sep 3, 2026 Job Description- Salary placement within the above range will be determined based on licensure and relevant experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum- Teach Chemistry and Physics courses at the college preparatory and/or honors level.
- Deliver instruction aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and MCAS requirements.
- Integrate scientific concepts with real-world applications relevant to vocational programs (e.g., engineering, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive, environmental science).
- Develop and implement lesson plans, labs, and assessments that support inquiry-based and hands-on learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English language learners. Laboratory & Safety Management
- Design and supervise laboratory experiments that meet safety standards and enhance conceptual understanding.
- Maintain compliance with all school, district, and state lab safety regulations (including chemical storage, disposal, and equipment use).
- Teach and enforce proper use of lab equipment and safety protocols. Student Support & Assessment
- Monitor and assess student progress using formative and summative assessments.
- Provide timely feedback and academic support to improve student achievement.
- Prepare students for
MCAS, AP
(if applicable), and postsecondary readiness.- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and performance. Collaboration & Vocational Integration
- Collaborate with vocational instructors to connect science concepts to technical programs (e.g., electricity in shop programs, chemical processes in culinary or cosmetology).
- Participate in interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
- Work with guidance counselors and support staff to support student academic and career pathways. Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in faculty meetings, department meetings, and professional development.
- Stay current with best practices in science education and vocational integration.
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and Massachusetts educator standards.
- Engage in ongoing reflection and improvement of instructional practice.
