Private Math & Science Teacher/Tutor — 9th Grade Student We are looking for an exceptional Math and Science teacher/tutor to work one-on-one with a 9th-grade student . This is a personalized educational role, not a traditional classroom teaching position. The right person will be someone who genuinely enjoys working with teenagers and understands that students do not all learn in the same way. We are looking for a teacher who can build a strong relationship with the student, identify how he learns best, explain concepts in different ways, and help him develop both academic skills and confidence. Our goal is not simply to complete homework or prepare for the next test. We want to help the student understand the material, fill academic gaps, develop strong study habits, and become more confident and independent as a learner. What You'll Do Provide individualized, one-on-one instruction in 9th-grade mathematics and science . Follow the student's current school curriculum while identifying and addressing areas where he may have gaps in understanding. Make difficult concepts understandable through different explanations, examples, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and real-world applications. Help the student develop problem-solving skills rather than simply giving him answers. Teach math concepts such as algebra, equations, functions, geometry, graphing, proportions, and other topics appropriate to his current coursework. Teach foundational high-school science, including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth/environmental science as appropriate to his curriculum. Review school assignments, tests, projects, and upcoming material and use them to guide instruction. Help the student prepare for quizzes, tests, and larger assignments without turning every session into homework help. Identify patterns in mistakes and use them to determine what concepts need additional instruction. Develop individualized exercises and lessons based on the student's strengths, weaknesses, interests, and learning style. Incorporate technology, visual learning, demonstrations, experiments, and hands-on activities when they improve understanding. Help develop organization, study, time-management, and test-taking skills. Encourage curiosity and critical thinking rather than rote memorization. Communicate with the parent about progress, areas of concern, and recommendations for additional support. Maintain a simple record of topics covered, skills mastered, and areas that need continued attention.
