We are currently seeking a Part-time Physics/ Math teacher who is passionate about science education and experienced in working with middle and high school students, including those preparing for standardized tests and advanced placement coursework.
Open Position:
Part Time Physics/ Math Teacher Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Teach Physics concepts ranging from Newtonian mechanics to electricity and magnetism, thermodynamics, optics, and modern physics Support students in mastering fundamental skills and solving complex problems with clarity and confidence Design and deliver customized lesson plans based on individual learning goals and assessment results Prepare students for high-stakes standardized exams, including: AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2,
AP Physics C:
Mechanics & Electricity/Magnetism SAT Physics Subject Test (if applicable) Integrate real-world applications, hands-on examples, and simulations (e.g., PhET, virtual labs) to enhance conceptual understanding Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents Collaborate with the Momentum Scholars team to develop and refine curriculum and instructional strategies Foster an encouraging, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating learning environment Support students in science fair projects or physics competitions (USAPhO, Science Bowl, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field At least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in Physics Strong knowledge of AP Physics content and exam formats Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, or Education Experience preparing students for AP Physics exams or SAT Physics Subject Test Familiarity with lab simulations and virtual science tools Background in competitive science programs or Olympiad coaching is a plus Ideal Candidate Qualities (All Positions): Creative, flexible, and engaging teaching style Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized Strong decision-making and time management skills Professional, collaborative, and student-focused

Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 3:00 PM
