Satisfactory completion of two years of college/university or 90 college credit hoursHolds or is eligible for Maine State Authorization as an Educational Technician IIIEvidence of successful experience working with childrenDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with othersWillingness to participate in ongoing professional developmentJob Goal:
To assist teachers in achieving academic, functional, and behavioral objectives for students.Performance Responsibilities:
Work with individual students and/or small groups to reinforce previously taught skills in literacy and numeracy, under the direction of the classroom teacher or content specialistPlan and support new learning opportunities for students, as appropriate to the Educational Technician III roleMaintain classroom expectations and support positive student behaviorAssist with instructional and classroom activities, including practice exercises and small group workSupport students in school-related activities outside the classroom (e.g., field trips)Perform non-instructional duties as assignedCollaborate with teachers and staff to support student learningProfessional Responsibilities:
Maintain knowledge of student goals, progress, and accommodationsAttend meetings, trainings, and consultations as directedDocument and participate in required professional developmentMaintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPAAdhere to all School Board policies and proceduresAdditional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by administrationPhysical Demands:
The employee must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including but not limited to: Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periodsClimbing stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pullingLifting 2575 pounds, depending on student needsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Terms of Employment:
Salary, work year, and working conditions will be established by the RSU 57 School Board.Evaluation:
