The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of the natural world while fostering critical thinking, curiosity, and a love for science. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that promotes hands-on learning and collaboration among students. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines. Facilitate hands-on experiments and activities to enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts. Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations. Provide individualized support and enrichment opportunities for students with diverse learning needs. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with fellow educators to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives. Stay current with developments in science education and integrate new teaching strategies and technologies into the curriculum. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required. Uphold school policies and contribute to a safe and respectful learning environment. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field. Valid Michigan teaching certification in Science Education for middle school. Experience teaching science at the middle school level preferred. Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
