HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Hudson Valley is one of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system and serves nearly 9,000 students each year. Full-Time Probationary Minimum Qualifications:
Master's or higher degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Specialization in Cybersecurity or a related field is desirable. The successful candidate will have industry experience, as well as experience teaching cybersecurity, computer science, and mathematics courses at the post-secondary level. Courses may include computer basics, programming, cyber defense best practices, industry standards, ethical hacking, network security, computer ethics, college algebra and calculus. In addition, experience with robotics, including industrial robotics, or Artificial Intelligence, is a plus. Demonstrated teaching expertise. Daytime, in-person availability required. Reliable transportation required.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
The Instructor will report to the Department Chair for Computer Science and Mathematics and perform the following duties: Provide classroom and on-line instruction in Computer Science and/or Mathematics courses within the department. Evaluate student performance. Participation on departmental, division wide, and college wide committees for the purpose of building community Professional development is encouraged and supported. At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract. The Salary beginning the Fall 2026 academic year is $53,000.00.
