Job Description:

Qualified chemistry instructors are needed to fill a number of lecture and laboratory positions within the Lab Sciences Department to begin January of 2022. Duties may include teaching lecture/laboratory assignments in any of the following courses: Introduction to Chemistry 1, and/or General Chemistry 1. We are looking specifically for instructors to teach during traditional daytime hours, although there may be opportunities to include evening and Saturday sessions as well.

Requirements:

Instructors teaching in the department should have a master's degree in chemistry. In extraordinary cases, a bachelor's degree may be sufficient to fill a vacancy. Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Additional Information:

This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified applicants. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur. The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews. Level A - $665/credit hour Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson.
