QUALIFICATIONS
1. Valid driver's license. 2. Appropriate State of Ohio teaching certification for middle school education, grades 5-8. 3. Demonstrates a sincere desire to support all students in their academic and personal development. 4. Good health, high moral character, and good attendance record.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Provides instruction and guidance to middle school students in grades 5-8, fostering academic, social, and emotional growth. Creates a structured and engaging learning environment that prepares students for high school and beyond.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides a comprehensive instructional program aligned with Ohio Department of Education and workforce standards. Develops and implements lesson plans that support diverse learning styles and abilities. Utilizes formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Maintains a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Collaborates with colleagues, support staff, and families to promote student success. Engages in regular communication with parents regarding student progress and concerns. Participates in professional development and staff meetings. Implements classroom management strategies that foster a supportive learning atmosphere. Integrates technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning. Assists with school-wide initiatives, activities, and extracurricular programs. Maintains accurate records and complies with district policies and state regulations. Promotes social-emotional development and self-regulation skills among students. Encourages a growth mindset and lifelong learning habits. Provide targeted intervention, remediation, and enrichment opportunities to meet diverse student needs, while consistently progress monitoring and analyzing student growth to inform instructional decisions. Adapts instruction to meet the needs of English learners and students with disabilities. Participates in school improvement planning and curriculum development.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a role model for students, demonstrating ethical behavior and citizenship. Encourages students to develop responsibility, independence, and respect for others. Completes other duties as assigned by administration.
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue. Occasional interactions with students who exhibit challenging behaviors.
