Junior High Science Teacher Position Category Teaching - Jr. High School Position Type Junior High Science Teacher Posting Start Date 4/27/2026 Posting End Date 5/29/2026 Position Start Date 8/10/2026 School District Purcell Public Schools City, State Purcell , OK United States Description Purcell Junior High is seeking an enthusiastic and curious Science Teacher to join our faculty. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about the natural world and dedicated to fostering a "hands-on, minds-on" learning environment. The successful candidate will guide students through the inquiry process, helping them develop critical thinking skills through lab exploration and scientific reasoning.
Curriculum Delivery:
Teach Earth Science, Life Science, or Physical Science (depending on grade level assignment) aligned with the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Science (OAS-S).
Lab Leadership:
Design and facilitate regular laboratory experiments and demonstrations that emphasize safety and the scientific method.
STEM Integration:
Incorporate technology and engineering principles into daily lessons to prepare students for 21st-century challenges.
Data-Driven Instruction:
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student growth and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Collaboration:
Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to align curriculum horizontally and vertically within the district
Required Qualifications Certification:
Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Middle Level Science or Secondary Science (Grades 6-8).
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
