Job Summary:
The College Student Coding Instructor is an "In Person" role and will provide computer programming "Coding" instruction to Kindergarten to 12th grade students in-person setting. Proficient in (1) or more current programming languages or platforms including: SCRATCH, Python, Java, Java Script. Gaming experience is a plus. > We have an immediate role for our Monday & Wednesdays afterschool program (3 pm - 6 pm) and Saturdays starting in February. <
Compensation:
Part Time Seasonal / $15 - $18 per hour / 4 to 12 Hours per week
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Use provided curriculum to deliver lesson plans teaching "computer programming", explaining "computer syntax" and demonstrating examples for greatest comprehension.
  • Lead programming activities, demonstrating various techniques and encouraging children to come up with ideas
  • Communicating with students and/or parents, providing updates where required and answering questions about the class.
  • Providing guidance, motivation and support to all class visitors
Required Skills/Abilities:
■ Friendly, positive attitude and must like children.■ Be coachable and willing to learn. ■ Good verbal and written communication skills. ■ Good organizational skills and attention to detail. TC2 College Student Coding Instructor 2 of 2 ■ Good time management skills to manage successful completion of lesson plans during allotted class time.. ■ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. ■ Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. ■ Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. ■ Proficient with Google Workspace and Cloud software programming platforms including SCRATCH, Python, Java, Java Script, Robolox, Grasshopper, Fortinite, Lego First League, etc.
Education and Experience:
Current (2) year or (4) year college student in a technology related major.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to instruct students in 1 to 2 hour periods of while sitting at a desk or standing and working on a computer. Self-discipline with personal smartphone use.
Job Types:
