Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in young learners' lives as a General Education Science Teacher for middle school students near Hemingway, SC. This contract position is available immediately and extends throughout the 2026/2027 school year, offering a rewarding opportunity to inspire students and foster a passion for science. In this full-time role, you'll work Monday through Friday from 7:15am to 2:45pm, contributing 37.5 hours per week. You'll join a dedicated school community focused on providing quality education, supporting diverse learners, and nurturing academic curiosity.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active South Carolina teaching license (required) Certification in Middle Level Science or Science (no exceptions; must meet state requirements) Previous experience teaching middle school science preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement science lessons aligned with state standards and curriculum guidelines Create engaging instructional activities to promote critical thinking and scientific inquiry Assess, record, and report on the academic progress of students Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student success Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment for all learners
