MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement district curriculum as written. Present subject matter according to guidelines established by state guidelines,board policies, and administrative regulations. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students. Work cooperatively with special population's teachers to modify and adapt curriculum as needed for special population students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Programs (IEP), LPAC Modification sheets, 504Accommodation plans, etc. Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district guidelines. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits through goal setting. Conduct on-going assessment of student achievement through formal and informal processes. Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school and district. Create safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Establish and maintain open, professional communication with parents, students, colleagues, principals, and community members. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills. Comply with federal, state, district, and school policies and procedures for classroom teachers. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and documents as required. Attend and participate in faculty meetings and staff committees as required. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Texas certification in content area. English as a Second Language Supplemental (EC-12) Texas certification required for ELA teachers, preferred for all others. Enrollment in an approved Alternative Certification Program (if applicable). Flexible schedule and ability to be punctual and in attendance daily. Must be able to work in a noisy and crowded environment. Ability to maintain professionalism in all forms of correspondence and in person.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Work with frequent interruptions and multiple priorities. District-wide and occasional state-wide travel. Prolonged use of computer. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and possibly lifting 60+pounds . Maintain emotional control under stress. 2026-2027 SCHOOL

Additional Compensation Information:

Every student deserves a second chance, and the dedication of a great educator can completely change the trajectory of their lives. As an approved Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designation high school, we recognize and celebrate educator impact with an additional salary of up to $21,000 for qualified educators. Additionally, because of our organization's size, our teachers qualify for the Teacher Retention Allotment at the $4,000 and $8,000 thresholds . Winfree Academy participates in TRS Active Care and provides free dental and life insurance options for its educators.
