San Antonio, TX Job Details Part-time $15 - $20 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications English Working with youth Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Jr Science After-School Instructor to ignite curiosity and foster a love for science among young learners. In this role, you will lead engaging, hands-on science activities in an after-school setting, creating a safe and inspiring environment for children to explore the wonders of science. Your energetic approach and strong communication skills will motivate students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a lifelong passion for discovery. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on youth development through science education. Duties Learn and deliver our prepared, age-appropriate science lessons and experiments Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment Supervise children during activities, outdoor play, and transitions to promote safety and engagement Implement safety protocols and emergency response plans Foster teamwork and collaboration among students through group activities and youth programs Experience Prior experience working with children in educational, camp, or childcare settings is highly preferred Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience teaching young children in informal or formal settings is highly preferred but not required. Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or related safety training are preferred but not required Experience facilitating youth programs, outdoor activities, or educational programs is a plus Background in special education or working with children with special needs is advantageous Proven ability to lead team activities, manage behavior management strategies, and foster positive youth development While it is not required, a strong comfort level and basic educational foundation in scientific concepts is highly desirable Join us in inspiring the next generation of scientists!
