Position Information Position Title Instructor Microbiology Requisition Number F00530P Job Description The Department of Microbiology at Weber State University invites applications for a Microbiology Instructor position for fall 2026. Teaching responsibilities for this role are based at the main Weber State University campus in Ogden, UT, with the possibility of assignments at the WSU-Davis campus in Layton. The instructor will manage a teaching load consisting of 12-15 credit hours per semester. This workload includes a mix of lower-division offerings, such as Introduction to Microbiology, Principles of Microbiology, and Elementary Public Health, and upper-division courses and laboratories aligned with the instructor's expertise and departmental needs. Instruction may occur through both in-person and online formats. Beyond classroom instruction, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Microbiology Department and the College of Science through professional service. Key duties include active participation in departmental meetings and the systematic collection and reporting of assessment data to evaluate course and program learning outcomes. This position is a full-time, non-tenure track appointment on a nine-month contract. Employment begins with an annual contract, the renewal of which is based on maintained satisfactory performance, at the sole discretion of the university. Contract renewal periods are typically for three years.
