Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver age-appropriate science lessons for students in Grades 2-6 in alignment with the school curriculum and weekly instructional plans. Teach key concepts in life science, earth science, and physical science through hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities. Guide students in making observations, asking questions, developing hypotheses, analyzing results, and explaining their thinking through discussions, drawings, reports, and presentations. Connect science learning to real-world applications and relevant cross-curricular themes. Assess and document student progress through projects, observations, science journals, and other appropriate assessments. Differentiate instruction and provide small-group or individual support to meet a range of learning needs. Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment for laboratory and hands-on activities. Collaborate with homeroom teachers to coordinate science instruction with classroom topics and learning goals. Co-organize and co-lead the school Science Fair, supporting students through project planning, experimentation, and presentation. Foster curiosity about the natural world and promote scientific thinking both inside and outside the classroom. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field Fluency in English; native or near-native speaker Experience teaching science at the elementary level Understanding of inquiry-based and hands-on science instruction Ability to create engaging experiments and demonstrations suitable for young learners Experience in bilingual or international school settings is a plus Schedule and Non-Teaching Responsibilities In addition to instructional duties, all Science teachers are expected to: Be prepared to run classes Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM Participate in weekly team planning meetings and professional development sessions (typically on Fridays) Supervise students during arrival, lunch, and dismissal on a rotating schedule Assist in organizing and attending school events, science fairs, exhibitions, and Open Houses Provide input for progress reports and parent-teacher conferences (twice per year) Support homeroom or specialist teachers as needed in collaborative projects or events Maintain classroom materials and submit requests for science supplies and equipment Follow school policies and actively contribute to creating a safe, respectful school environment
