Job Description

Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our educational team at Orange County High as a full-time Earth Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science, fostering a love for learning and critical thinking skills. This position offers an opportunity to engage with diverse learners and contribute to a collaborative and innovative teaching environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards and promote student understanding of scientific concepts. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for science. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to accommodate different learning styles and needs. Assess student performance through regular evaluations, assignments, and tests, providing constructive feedback to support their growth. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and participate in professional development opportunities. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding academic performance and behavior. Organize and supervise laboratory experiments and hands-on activities that enhance students' understanding of scientific principles. Stay current with advancements in science education and integrate relevant topics into the curriculum. Participate in school events, committees, and extracurricular activities to support the overall mission of the school. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field; Valid state teaching certification in Science or willing to obtain Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and ability to effectively communicate them to students. Experience in teaching middle or high school students preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning. Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues. Passion for inspiring students and fostering a lifelong love for science.
