General Statement of Duties Responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that supports students' academic growth, critical thinking, and social‑emotional development. The teacher creates an engaging, inclusive, and safe learning environment while aligning instruction with state standards, curriculum frameworks, and school goals. This role includes planning and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, providing feedback, and collaborating with colleagues, families, and the community. This is a part-time teaching assignment for the remainder of the current school year. The successful applicant will be expected to teach three sections of high school Environmental Science. All three sections will be taught during the morning hours. Essential Duties Instruction & Planning Develop and deliver daily lesson plans aligned with state and district standards. Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs. Implement differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications to support all learners. Integrate technology and innovative practices into teaching to enhance student engagement. Classroom Management Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior and learning. Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment. Manage classroom routines to ensure safety, orderliness, and instructional time Assessment & Data Use Design formative and summative assessments to measure student learning. Analyze data to monitor progress, adjust instruction, and support student achievement. Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents. Communication & Collaboration Communicate regularly and professionally with students, families, and colleagues. Participate in department meetings, team planning, and school initiatives. Collaborate with special education staff, counselors, and support personnel as needed. Professional Responsibilities Attend work daily and fulfill all assigned responsibilities. Participate in ongoing professional development to refine instructional practice. Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and required documentation. Uphold all school and district policies, including professional and ethical standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Information Actual hourly rate is determined by prior full-time teaching experience and highest level of education Compensation is calculated on semi-monthly hours accrued not to exceed a 4.50 hours per day or 22.5 hours a week. This is a 10-month (209-day) part-time teaching position with a contractual start date of August 17, 2026. Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted by the school administration. Minimum Requirements Must hold or be eligible for a valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in the applicable content area. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the classroom and school building. Ability to lift or move instructional materials up to 25 pounds. Ability to monitor students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, and school grounds.
