The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Science Teacher position, located at the new Juvenile Type 1 Facility, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Position Summary This position will develop and implement a program of educational services specific to the assessed Career and Technical Education (CTE) needs of the male and/or female juvenile offender population. The teacher will provide individual and group instruction; will evaluate student progress; and will prescribe necessary remediation and/or academic support services. The teacher will also complete all required documentation related to student assessment and related reports; will evaluate academic records in a timely manner; will monitor and manage student behavior; and will attend relevant institutional staffings/meetings. Salary Information This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04 a starting rate of $30.00/hour - $35.06/hour, plus excellent benefits. This position may receive supplemental pay, up to $2.97/hr., for additional credits relevant to the position that are over and above the credits needed for certification. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required. Qualifications Special Requirement:

Certification as a Teacher; Grades 4-12 or PK-12,by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and certification in one of the following: # 2600 General Science, #1601 Broad Field Science, #1605 Biology/Life Science,, #1636 Environmental Studies.
