Arizona Country Club is seeking a Head Pickleball Professional to lead day-to-day Pickleball instruction and programming, working directly with our Director of Racquet Sports to grow one of the Club's most active and beloved programs. Position Summary The Head Pickleball Professional serves as Arizona Country Club's Pickleball instructor and day-to-day program leader, helping the Director of Racquet Sports grow one of the department's most active areas into its next stage of growth. This position delivers exceptional instruction, creates programming, develops players across all levels, helps build Junior Pickleball, and progressively assumes greater responsibility within league, event, and tournament operations as knowledge and trust grow.

Essential Responsibilities:

Member Experience Build strong member relationships, help players connect to appropriate opportunities, and actively grow a successful teaching business. Remain enthusiastic and engaging with beginners and developing players, not just competitive ones. Programming & Instruction Deliver exceptional private, semi-private, and group Pickleball instruction. Develop players technically, tactically, and competitively across multiple ability levels. Create innovative clinics, instructional series, and small-group training opportunities. Help build clear player-development pathways from new players through advanced and competitive levels. Help create and grow a Junior Pickleball program in coordination with the broader junior racquet calendar. Program Growth & Operations Learn and support ACC's established league operations, including registration, player communication, level management, ratings, substitutions, and on-court execution. Progressively assume responsibility for individual leagues and broader league operations as knowledge of ACC's systems, standards, and culture develops. Learn tournament and event operations and take on increasing responsibility over time. Bring new ideas, expertise, and programming opportunities to the Director of Racquet Sports. Collaboration Collaborate with Tennis Professionals and Racquet Services while remaining primarily focused on Pickleball. Attend and actively support all tennis and pickleball tournaments and special events to help ensure a consistent, high-quality member experience.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. Successful experience in private, semi-private, and group Pickleball instruction required. Experience with leagues, tournaments, junior programming, or organized Pickleball programming preferred. Private-club, resort, or high-level instructional experience preferred. Professional certification through a recognized Pickleball organization preferred. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, and applicable SafeSport/background clearance, required or must be obtained promptly after hire. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Exceptional, engaging instruction with strong knowledge of modern Pickleball technique, tactics, rules, and competition. A student's mindset toward the evolving game, paired with creative self-starter energy. Genuine investment in member relationships and player development. Dependability, organization, accountability, and comfort receiving feedback while contributing expertise. Interest in learning league, tournament, and program operations and earning increased ownership over time. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This position requires active participation in Pickleball instruction and daily operations. The Head Pickleball Professional must be able to: Stand and move for extended periods while teaching and participating in Pickleball activities. Demonstrate Pickleball technique, including running, feeding balls, swinging, stooping, bending, and balancing. Lift and carry teaching and event equipment. Work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Communicate effectively with members, guests, and staff.
