Job Description
About the Role Ace Pickleball Club Tucson is looking for an experienced, energetic pickleball professional to lead our instructional program at a 13-court indoor facility — and to help turn great teaching into real club growth. This is more than a teaching job. You'll own the quality, scheduling, and development of our classes, clinics, and instructor team, while playing a direct role in converting students, guests, and drop-ins into long-term members. If you love coaching and you're just as comfortable recommending a membership as you are teaching a dink, this is your role. What You'll Do Lead and grow our full instructional calendar — beginner through advanced, youth, private lessons, and specialty clinics Recruit, train, and manage a team of instructors, and hold the program to a consistent, high-quality standard Build new programs and signature events that bring players into the club and keep them coming back Welcome prospective members, guide them toward the right membership, and confidently ask for the sale Convert clinic participants, trial guests, and lesson clients into active, retained members Be a visible, connected presence in the Tucson pickleball community What We're Looking For Demonstrated success teaching pickleball to players of multiple skill levels Experience leading or mentoring a team of instructors or coaches Comfort discussing memberships, following up with prospects, and working toward measurable sales goals A recognized pickleball teaching certification (PPR, PCI, IPTPA, or equivalent), or willingness to obtain one promptly Availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed Nice to Have 3+ years of pickleball instruction, racquet-sports programming, or club-professional experience A track record of growing clinic participation, instructional revenue, or memberships at a previous club A competitive playing background (DUPR 4.5+ a plus, but teaching and leadership matter more than rating) Existing relationships in the Arizona pickleball community Experience with scheduling, POS, CRM, or membership-management systems Compensation $23-$26/hour for program-leadership responsibilities, plus additional earnings from clinics, private instruction, membership sales, and performance incentives. Expected first-year total compensation of approximately $48,000-$55,000 as a realistic baseline — but that's not a ceiling. Private and semi-private lessons you teach are compensated separately on top of this structure, so instructors who build a strong following and teach a high volume of private lessons have real upside beyond the estimated range.
