After-School Chess Instructor Fundamental Chess Academy Irvine, CA Job Details Contract $30 - $50 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Qualifications Personal service experience with children Working with students Student support Critical thinking Full Job Description After-School Chess Coach Fundamental Chess Academy is looking for enthusiastic, dependable coaches to teach after-school chess enrichment classes at local elementary schools throughout Orange County. Whether you're an experienced chess coach or a strong player who enjoys working with kids, we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed. This is a great opportunity for teachers, college students, chess players, or anyone who enjoys making a positive impact while sharing their love of chess. Responsibilities Teach fun, interactive chess lessons for students ages 6-14 Help students improve their chess skills while building confidence, focus, and critical thinking Create a positive and encouraging classroom environment Manage the classroom and keep students engaged throughout each lesson Set up and clean up classroom materials Communicate professionally with school staff and FCA when needed Qualifications Strong knowledge of chess fundamentals (USCF or tournament experience is a plus but not required) Enjoys working with children Reliable, professional, and punctual Comfortable leading groups of students Reliable transportation to local school sites Previous experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or working with children is preferred Compensation & Schedule Competitive hourly pay ($30-$50/hour depending on experience and assignment) Mileage reimbursement for travel to school sites Weekday afternoon schedule with flexible assignments based on your availability Additional coaching opportunities may be available through camps, tournaments, and private lessons If you enjoy chess and want to help students learn in a fun and supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay:
