We are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech & Debate Coach to help students become confident speakers, critical thinkers, and successful competitors. The ideal candidate has a strong competitive speech and debate background, experience coaching students for tournaments, and a passion for helping students grow both inside and outside the classroom. This individual should be comfortable working with students at a variety of ages and skill levels, from beginners developing foundational communication skills to competitive debaters preparing for tournaments. Primary Responsibilities Teach public speaking and debate classes for elementary and middle school students Assess students' communication, public speaking, and debate skills to determine appropriate class placement and coaching goals Develop students' confidence, critical thinking, argumentation, research, and presentation skills Break down debate topics into age-appropriate language and guide students in preparing speeches, cases, rebuttals, and cross-examinations Conduct practices, drills, mock debates, and speaking exercises to reinforce student learning and skill development Prepare students for local, regional, state, and national speech and debate competitions Coach students in competitive formats such as Parliamentary Debate, Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Speech Events, and related formats Attend tournaments and provide coaching support during competitions Serve as a speech and debate judge when needed Track student growth and competition performance Help students develop competitive strategies, case construction, research skills, rebuttal techniques, and tournament readiness Collaborate with the iLEARN team to support program development and student success Qualifications Competitive speech and debate experience required Experience coaching students for competitive speech and debate tournaments Ability and willingness to serve as a speech and debate judge during tournaments Familiarity with Parliamentary Debate, Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Speech Events, or related formats Ability to coach students at both introductory and competitive levels Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentorship that motivates students to grow Strong organizational and time management skills Passion for education, public speaking, debate, and student development Availability to coach students and attend weekend speech and debate tournaments throughout the school year Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated success in speech and debate competitions Competitive achievements in speech and debate are highly valued Experience preparing students for local, regional, state, or national speech and debate competitions Track record of helping students achieve success in speech and debate competitions strongly preferred Teaching, coaching, or educational experience working with K-12 students Experience working with speech and debate teams, clubs, or competitive programs Perks Opportunity to help shape and grow iLEARN's Speech & Debate Program Leadership growth opportunities for exceptional candidates Flexible schedule that works around your other responsibilities Fun, collaborative, and creative work environment

Pay:
