Summer Camp K-8 STEM Instructor

This application is the first step in to be a STEM Center USA Camp Instructor. This summer STEM Center USA will be offering Monday

• Friday TK-12th Day Camps at the following locations (and maybe a few more!): Claremont at El Roble Intermediate School
• Claremont at STEM Center Claremont (855 W Foothill Blvd., Claremont, CA 91711) Rancho Cucamonga at STEM Center USA Rancho Cucamonga (11799 Sebastian Way, Suite 101, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730) Virtually! (Select camps only, we are not hiring for virtual-only instructors for this position) Camps will be blended age (ex. TK
• K, 1st
• 3rd, 3rd
• 6th) and run for half-days (9 am
• 12 pm). Instructors need to be available for ~7:30 AM
• 12:45 PM for each camp week they work.

This summer, our STEM Center USA hiring process uses the following format: 1. Indeed Application (this application!) 2. STEM Center USA Google Application 3. Virtual Live Interview with STEM Center USA Camp Leadership (by invite only, via Zoom) 4. In-Person Live Interview with STEM Center USA Camp Leadership (by invite only) This position is a high-energy, fun, meaningful and high-impact experience. Camp topics include robotics, electronics, coding, game design, crafting, CAD modeling, and more! No robotics or coding experience is necessary, we will train you on this!

Training Dates:

Early May 2026 to June 2026 (a subset of these dates will be used for training based on varying academy schedules; training will be available in-person in Claremont/Rancho Cucamonga with some virtual options for those at other locations)

Camp Dates:

Camp dates vary by site. Camps fall within June 1, 2026 to August 7, 2026. Instructors may work various weeks within these camp weeks. Ideal camp instructors work at least 3 weeks of summer camps. Ideally for 2026, camp instructors are also able to stay on for weekly classes in the 2026-2027 school year (and possibly beyond!) Camp work hours are typically ~20

• 24 hours/week.

Possible trainings for select weeks will be ~4-10 additional hours/week. Additional work hours may be available for those interested.

Hourly Pay Rate:

This part-time, seasonal position includes an hourly rate range of: $17

• $22/hour.
• hourly rate is dependent on your academic status, experience, leadership position in camp, location of camp, and credentials. This range includes pay rate for current employees with multiple years of experience on our team. Starter rates are typically within the $17
• 19/hour range based on the notes above.

Requirements:

• Interest in working with TK12 students
• Ability to work in-person at one or more camp locations
• Strong communication skills
• Have or are pursuing a Bachelor's degree (or higher)
• Available to work for three or more camp weeks Ideal camp instructors will also continue work throughout the academic year (2026-2027) at our Claremont & Rancho Cucamonga Centers in Fall 2026.

We may hire 1-2 summer-only instructors and look to hire mostly instructors who will continue to academic-year instructors. Because these are seasonal, part-time hours, we welcome those that may hold another job or are also enrolled in summer classes. Trainings will be available in rotations and we will work around your availability! Please note that applicants must have or be pursuing a bachelor's degree.
