In this role, you will create a safe, inclusive, and fun environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a memorable summer experience for all participants while supporting their developmental needs. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your skills in education, childcare, and youth engagement. Duties Lead and supervise children during various camp activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate educational themes, arts, sports, and recreational activities Foster an inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and positive behavior management Assist with classroom management techniques to maintain order and encourage participation among children of diverse backgrounds Provide first aid when necessary, following proper protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing personalized attention as needed Collaborate with fellow counselors to organize special events, performances, or themed days that enhance the summer experience Requirements Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, camp leadership, or babysitting is highly desirable Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management strategies Certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle challenging situations positively Experience in teaching, theater arts, sports, art, cooking Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and maintain high energy levels throughout the day Embark on a rewarding journey this summer by empowering children through fun-filled learning experiences!
