Color Guard Instructor

Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that include flag work, dance, choreography, and equipment handling tailored to various skill levels Lead rehearsals, ensuring safe practices and effective technique development for all participants Foster a positive team environment by promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline among students Manage classroom activities with strong behavior management strategies to maintain focus and engagement Provide individualized coaching and feedback to help students improve their performance skills Organize performances at school events, competitions, and community gatherings to showcase student progress Collaborate with other instructors and staff to coordinate schedules, costumes, props, and safety protocols Requirements Proven experience in teaching or coaching color guard, marching band auxiliary units, or related performance arts Strong background in choreography, dance (including ballet), or theater arts with an emphasis on visual storytelling Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to diverse age groups including children and adults Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively with excellent behavior management skills Experience working with children, early childhood education or preschool settings is highly desirable Familiarity with safety procedures related to equipment handling such as flags, rifles, sabers or similar props Additional skills in photography, sewing for costume creation, culinary arts or childcare are considered a plus but are not required This role is perfect for energetic educators passionate about performing arts who want to make a meaningful impact on students' lives through engaging instruction.
