Job Description

BBA Afterschool Inc. is hiring energetic and reliable After-School Instructors to teach either Chess or STEM to elementary-aged students in fun, structured enrichment programs throughout Prince George#39;s County. This is an excellent opportunity for college students interested in education, engineering, computer science, mathematics, science, child development, or related fields. If you enjoy working with children and creating an engaging learning environment, we#39;d love to hear from you. We are currently hiring instructors to teach either Chess or STEM programs. Position Details Part-time, after-school position Monday through Friday Between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM 1.5-hour sessions $37.50 per session ($25 per hour) No weekends No lesson planning required Curriculum and equipment provided Why You#39;ll Love This Role Gain hands-on experience working with elementary students Build leadership, communication, and classroom management skills Flexible afternoon schedule that fits around college classes Consistent weekly schedule Opportunities for advancement within BBA Afterschool Make a positive impact in your local community Ideal Candidates We encourage applications from students pursuing majors such as: Education Elementary Education Mathematics Computer Science Engineering Physics Biology Chemistry Child Development Psychology Any STEM-related field This position is also a great fit for: Chess players or chess club members STEM tutors or mentors Teachers, substitute teachers, and instructional assistants College students with strong analytical or technical skills Anyone passionate about inspiring young learners Responsibilities Teach elementary students either Chess or STEM activities Follow BBA#39;s structured curriculum and lesson plans Create a fun, safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment Supervise groups of approximately 15 to 25 students Encourage critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and teamwork Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership Qualifications Experience playing or teaching Chess, or experience with STEM subjects, is preferred but not required Comfortable working with children in grades K through 5 Reliable transportation to schools throughout Prince George#39;s County Dependable and punctual Must successfully complete the required Prince George#39;s County Public Schools background check and fingerprinting process Job Type Part-time Contract Seasonal In-person Join BBA Afterschool and help create engaging after-school experiences by teaching Chess or STEM, inspiring students to think critically, solve problems, and discover a love of learning while building valuable professional experience for your future career.
