Elevate your passion for climbing and community as an Event Instructor at Sportrock. In this role, you'll be the anchor of our introductory events, including but not limited to Open Climb, Birthday Parties, and Team Building activities. We're seeking a highly enthusiastic individual able to create unforgettable rock climbing experiences that keep participants coming back. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable engaging and communicating with new climbers of all ages. This is an exciting position that opens doors to growth and potential further opportunities at Sportrock.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cultivate an inviting and supportive atmosphere, and become an integral part of our climbing community. Greet every customer who walks through the doors with eye contact, a smile, and a verbal acknowledgement. Embrace customer experience as a cornerstone of your role, engaging with visitors in a lively and warm manner. Actively interact with customers, going the extra mile to make their experiences unforgettable. Stay up-to-date and informed on facility offerings found on the website, gym-management software, any recent communications, or elsewhere. Effectively manage risk in an indoor climbing environment. Setup, oversight and cleanup of various youth program activities. Top Rope Belaying. Provide ongoing instruction on climbing risk management including falling, landing, and potential hazards around the gym. Provide participants with impactful, high-quality climbing experiences. Uphold the gyms rules, procedures, and policies. Ability to manage your time clock appropriately. Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in and around climbing gyms. Proficiency in top rope belaying. Outstanding interpersonal skills, allowing you to connect with climbers of all levels and backgrounds. A proactive problem-solving mindset, matched with a keen sense of fun and adventure. Must be 16 years of age or older
Pay:
$18.00 per hour Expected hours: 2.0 - 10.0 per week
