In this energetic role, you will lead classes, teach techniques across various martial arts disciplines, and foster a positive environment that encourages growth and teamwork. Your passion for sports, physical education, and working with children will help create a motivating atmosphere where students can thrive and achieve their goals. Duties Lead engaging martial arts classes for diverse age groups, focusing on techniques such as Karate, Judo, or other martial arts disciplines Develop customized training plans that promote skill development, safety, and fun Teach proper use of safety equipment including AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) and first aid/CPR procedures Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement Manage behavior and ensure a safe, respectful environment for all participants Coordinate with parents or guardians regarding student progress and class participation when applicable Organize sports-specific training sessions such as soccer, basketball, cheerleading, climbing or gymnastics to enhance overall athletic skills Maintain equipment safety checks and ensure cleanliness of training areas Foster teamwork and leadership skills through group activities and team-building exercises Qualifications Proven experience in martial arts such as Karate, Judo, or similar disciplines; certifications preferred Prior experience working with children in sports or physical education settings Knowledge of sports coaching techniques including soccer coaching, basketball, cheerleading, climbing or gymnastics Strong communication skills to effectively instruct students and engage with parents or guardians Ability to demonstrate proper technique while emphasizing safety protocols including AED operation and first aid/CPR certification Experience in behavior management to maintain a positive learning environment Lifeguard experience or swimming skills are a plus for programs involving water activities Enthusiasm for teaching physical education and sports activities with a focus on health club or gym environments is desirable Join us in empowering individuals through martial arts training!
