Independent Contractor (1099)
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM for 2026-27 school year
Location:
Rotating across four Charlotte-area program sites
Class Duration:
Two 45-minute sessions per week, serving different locations
Overview:
The Discovery Lounge is seeking dynamic and passionate club leaders to lead karate and enrichment classes for elementary students (K-5). This role is ideal for individuals with a background in youth programming, physical education, performing arts, or childcare who are excited to inspire and engage young learners through movement, creativity, and discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead engaging, age-appropriate Karate, sessions for K-5 students Create a safe, inclusive, and structured environment that promotes skill-building and fun Rotate weekly between four program sites, maintaining consistency and professionalism Communicate effectively with site staff and follow all program protocols Arrive prepared, punctual, and ready to lead with enthusiasm and care
Qualifications:
Prior experience working with children in educational, recreational, or enrichment settings Reliable transportation and ability to travel between sites Strong classroom management and group engagement skills Background in martial arts, dance, music, cheerleading, physical education, or similar fields preferred Ability to work independently while aligning with program goals and expectations
Compensation:
This is a 1099 independent contractor position. The rate will be discussed during the interview process and is based on experience and club type.
