Sports Specialist - Summer Camp

We are looking for a Sports Specialist to run activities for our K - 8 Summer Camp. Dates are June 29 - August 7, Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 3pm. Ideally, this would be a position our candidate would come back to for a number of summers. Ideal for phys ed. teachers looking for a fun, dynamic summer opportunity! Plan, organize, and lead a variety of sports games and activities tailored to different age groups and skill levels Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing rules, supervising play, and maintaining a secure environment Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior through active coaching and encouragement Manage group dynamics with effective classroom management techniques to keep activities engaging and inclusive Provide basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any injuries or emergencies Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a cohesive camp experience that integrates sports with other camp programs Strong knowledge of various sports, athletic techniques, and coaching methods Excellent classroom management skills to maintain order during activities Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, summer camp, tutoring, or childcare environments Ability to implement behavior management strategies that promote positive conduct Familiarity with early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices First aid certification to ensure safety during all activities Effective communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members Background in special education or working with students with diverse needs is a plus Ability to adapt activities for children with different abilities or learning styles Passion for sports coaching combined with a caring approach to child development

Pay:

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour
