Part-time STEAM Instructor Brooklyn Robot Foundry Western New York Rochester, NY Job Details Part-time $19 - $21 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Experience working with children Experience working with elementary school students Full Job Description Job Summary When you hear the word robot, do you smile? Do you get excited when you get to use your hands to build things? Do you find joy in building with kids? Then this is the perfect job for you! Brooklyn Robot Foundry offers STEAM classes, parties, camps, and field trips for children 2-13 years old (and sometimes adults). Our goal is to share the fun of STEAM learning with children everywhere and inspire them to continue a life full of exploration, problem-solving, and imagination! This role requires on-site instruction at different locations around the Buffalo, NY area.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate robot building classes Keep your tools organized and stocked Troubleshoot robot issues (we will teach you how!) Ensure the classes stay on time and within their agreed-upon time limit Encourage and build confidence in kids Stay positive and fun under pressure! Learn how to build different projects Improv in the classroom Coordinate with other instructors, clients, and parents on-site Report feedback to the appropriate channels Travel between class locations
REQUIREMENTS
Enjoy working with children Love to make things with your hands (e.g., woodworking, sculpture, crafts, set construction, baking, cooking, etc.) Extremely reliable Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills Patient and friendly Flexible Like having fun Believe in diversifying the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) classroom Must be able to pass a CPR/First Aid certification (we will arrange a certification class) Preferred Experience (but not required): Teaching/leading a classroom Working with children in-person (teacher, camp counselor, babysitter, etc.) Working with circuits Using power tools Crafting/making things 3-dimensionally
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
