Description:
Welcome to Windham Mountain Club!
Work Location:
In-person role based in Windham, NY.
Pay:
19 to 22 per hour based on experience
Seasonal Position:
This role is available for the winter season. Full Time and Part Time Positions available! Start dates are weather dependent. Perks (Perks may change at any time.) Scheduling Expectations:
Peak times include weekends, early mornings, and holidays. Weekend availability is required.
Conditions:
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, sleet, snow, hail, wind, and cold temperatures.
Overview of Position:
Competitive Programs Coaches work with athletes to develop their skills, fundamentals, and tactics while helping them achieve their competitive goals. Coaches create a safe, positive, and engaging training environment while upholding Windham Mountain Club's Culture of Excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality on-snow training sessions Promote athlete development, safety, and sportsmanship Follow all Ski & Ride School policies and procedures Select appropriate terrain and manage groups safely Assist with training venue setup and breakdown Support race and event operations as needed Travel to competitions when possible Provide exceptional guest service
Qualifications:
Must be at least 14 years old US Ski & Snowboard Level 100 Certification (minimum) with current SafeSport training and background check requirements Previous coaching experience in a competitive program, racing, freestyle, or related discipline
PSIA/AASI
certification preferred Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills Ability to coach athletes of varying ages and abilities Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in varying winter conditions Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to safely ski or ride for extended periods Ability to navigate uneven, snow- and ice-covered terrain Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats
