Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learn To Skate Coaches to join our skating program. This role involves teaching beginner to intermediate skating skills to children and adults in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports, coaching, and working with students of all ages, helping them develop confidence and technical skills on the ice. Prior experience in Figure Skating, Ice sports coaching, or teaching physical education is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to inspire students while fostering a love for skating and physical activity. Responsibilities Teach skating fundamentals to students of varying ages and skill levels in group or individual settings Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times during lessons and activities Provide positive behavior management to maintain a respectful and encouraging environment Demonstrate proper skating techniques and correct form as needed Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement Assist with organizing skating events, clinics, or competitions as required Maintain a clean and organized skating area, ensuring equipment is in good condition Qualifications Experience working with students(3yr-12yrs) in sports coaching, physical education, or childcare settings Background in Figure Skating, Hockey, or Ice Dance Competitive Skating background is a plus Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support student engagement and safety Ability to teach skating skills effectively while fostering a fun learning environment Strong communication skills and patience when working with children and beginners Prior experience with sports such as basketball or gymnastics is advantageous but not required Passion for promoting physical activity and developing new skaters of all ages Requirements Must be 16 years old Available to commit to a full 6-8 week session Flexibility to substitute or assist for other coaches as needed Learn to Skate USA Instructor and SafeSport Certification or willing to obtain one . This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and inspiring others through sport and physical activity.
