    Job Description
  • The successful candidate for the Human Services Instructor will: Teach courses in and related to human services at a college level.
Conduct classroom assessment, evaluation, and research activities. Engage in activities which may include student advising, and community service as part of the overall appointment. Participate in program goal setting and planning activities. Participate in institutional improvement activities. Participate in college committee assignments.
Salary Range:
$55,421
  • $71,893 Annual Base Wage The above salary range is for initial placement only. If currently teaching within Minnesota State, Current salary will remain the same. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree with a major in human services, social work, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or human development
  • OR Masters's degree with a minimum of 16 graduate semester credits (24 graduate quarter credits) in human services, social work, clinical psychology, or counseling psychology
  • OR Master's degree with a major in sociology or counseling with 10 graduate semester credits (15 graduate quarter credits (in human services) Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in human services, social work, clinical psychology, or counseling psychology.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Preferred Qualification At least two years of recent experience teaching college-level courses in and related to human services Two full-time years (or equivalent0 of verified related paid work experience in the field of chemical dependency/addition counseling. Experience with issues related to cultural groups and the delivery of human services Ability to make changes based on assessment and evaluation. Experience with, and commitment to, working competently with culturally diverse student populations, particularly American Indian students. Experience with learning communities, paired courses, and/or other alternative models. Ability to solve problems through effective communication and understanding.
