About The Position:
We are seeking two Academic Success Coaches to work directly with our social work students through providing proactive outreach, individualized academic coaching, retention‑focused interventions, and coordination with faculty and campus partners. These positions will promote student persistence, academic achievement, professional readiness, and timely progression toward degree completion. They also support online student onboarding, foster community building, and facilitate program-specific engagement. The Social Work Department is part of the School of Education, Health, and Human Services, which prepares students for successful entry into their profession. We focus on an ethical approach to human well-being and encourage critical thinking and practical application. Bachelor's degree Demonstrated ability to identify and build on students' strengths, talents, and cultural capital to support academic and personal success Skill in creating welcoming physical or virtual environments that foster student engagement, ownership, and a sense of belonging Strong organizational skills with careful attention to compliance and detail Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information in accordance with institutional policies Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments and academic units Willingness and ability to travel occasionally between program locations, includingPlattsburgh and Queensbury Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field Experience in higher education administration Familiarity with social work education standards, includingCSWE EPAS
