$2,084.07 - $2,146.59 per credit hour
Pay Determination:
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months salary unless otherwise specified.

The School of Education seeks an instructor to teach SWK 672 (M700) - Field Instruction II (3 credits), online 90-minute Synchronous Session w/asynchronous content management. Supervised practice experience to apply knowledge, social work principles, values, and methods and obtain increasing competence and skill for professional practice
Course Overview:
The two components of SWK 672 include: 1. An agency-based maximum of 200-hour internship in an approved human service agency under the supervision of a field instructor. 2. A live session seminar that meets every other week (See dates of seminar below
Internship Overview:
Provided in collaboration with human/social service agencies, forming an integral part of the preparation of students for professional practice in social work. The foundation-level internship emphasizes generalist social work practice at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Social work has roots in the liberal arts and the person-in-environment construct. As a generalist practice social work student, you will be expected to promote human and social well-being; social workers use a large range of prevention and intervention methods in their practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. The generalist practitioner identifies with the social work profession and applies ethical principles and critical thinking in practice. Social workers incorporate diversity in their practice and advocate for human rights and social and economic justice. They recognize, support, and build on the strengths and resilience of all human beings. They engage in research-informed practice and are proactive in responding to the impact of context on professional practice.
Seminar Overview:
Seminar will increase a student's understanding of the internship as a learning experience through critical reflection of practice in field, classroom discussions, assignments, and other coursework. The seminar design is a structured environment in which to integrate theoretical material learned in the classroom with internship experiences. Facilitated discussions synthesize theories, research, policy, and practice, while encouraging exploration of professional ethics as they relate to practice. Students will develop a basic understanding of the social work profession, including the values, ethics, social work roles, key theoretical and practice concepts, the use of self, and the integration of personal and professional values, advocacy, and social justice.
Qualifications:
An MSW with previous online graduate-level social work teaching experience preferred. Candidate must have two years post-masters experience. Must be able to teach online.

Developing and/or updating a class syllabus. Preparation of lectures, projects, or other student assignments. Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours. Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Meeting all designated class periods. Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations. Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner. Completion and submission of CSWE competency-based student outcomes for department assessment/accreditation. Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations. Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
