MSW Program Faculty, Assistant Professor of Social Work

Augustana University invites applications for a MSW Program faculty at an Assistant Professor level, beginning Fall 2026 to assist in preparation of MSW students.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

The ideal candidate willdemonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching future social workers in the MSW programactively participating in curriculum design and development and review for the new MSW programwork with the MSW Program leadership in fulfilling the programs mission and goalsenhance graduate student experience by serving as academic and career advisor during their time at Augustana University and entry into professional practice. maintain compliance with CSWE standards for explicit/implicit curriculum, field placement, and assessmentAugustana prides itself on excellent in-person classroom instruction, thus the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students in a liberal arts environment.

Required Qualifications:

an MSW from a CSWE accredited school requireda doctorate in social work or a closely related field requiredat least two years of post-MSW professional experiencehigh degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency

Preferred Qualifications:

doctorate degree in Social Work or related disciplinesuccessful teaching experience in social work educationInteracting with students, faculty, and administration with different backgrounds and points of view and a deep appreciation of and respect for academic values and shared governance must be top values of the candidate.
