Position Description:
This internship position at the South Dakota Human Services Center (HSC) is designed to provide students studying to receive a masters in social work an opportunity to work in a delivery system that provides services for adolescents and adults with a severe mental illness or serious emotional disturbance diagnosis. It is further designed to provide a structured opportunity to participate and work with individual, group and family counseling. Applicant must be a student in a graduate program in social work or a related field at a college or university with at least two semesters completed.
Qualifications:
Applicant must be a student in a graduate program in social work or a related field at a college or university with at least two semesters completed. All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions. Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.
