Job Description:
The candidate will be responsible for teaching a five class load in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Courses will include, Introductory and applied courses in sociology and criminology, with an emphasis on student success, community engagement, and experiential learning. Teaching responsibilities may include Introduction to Sociology, Juvenile Delinquency, and courses that connect students with community agencies, youth-serving organizations, or other applied learning opportunities. The department seeks candidates who demonstrate a commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching and who can connect sociological and criminological concepts to contemporary social issues and professional practice. Candidates with experience working in criminal justice, juvenile justice, public administration, social services, education, community-based organizations, or related fields are especially encouraged to apply.
Job Requirements:
Degree requirement is a PhD or MA in a social science field. Candidates should be able to provide evidence of delivering high quality instruction in Sociology and Criminology courses. Candidate should provide evidence of connections to community which facilitate applied learning experiences.
