Job Summary:
This teaching assignment may include a full range of undergraduate courses within the Sociology discipline.
Responsibilities:
Teaching assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or online courses. Teaching assignment may include a full range of undergraduate courses such as Principles of Sociology, Social Problems, Modern Relationships, Marriage and Family, Self and Society, Minority Relations, Introduction to Social Work, Criminology, and Global Cultures. Maintaining scheduled office hours, advising students, developing curriculum, participating in college service, and professional development activities. Leadership in developing and improving our academic courses. Community service is encouraged.
Supervision Received:
Reports to the Chief Academic Officer.
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree or higher required in Sociology or a related field. All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university. Ability to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience at the community college level. Experience and/or interest in using multimedia/new instructional technology in the classroom.
