Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university Current, valid Alabama Professional Certificate in special education Compliance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements Strong classroom management, student advocacy, and communication skills Experience in self-contained or resource special education preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs Deliver instruction that meets the unique learning requirements of each student Collaborate with general education staff, school administrators, and family members to facilitate student success Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in alignment with state and federal regulations Foster an inclusive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment Adapt teaching methods and materials to fit the needs of students Participate in professional development and staff meetings as required
