Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are open for three dedicated Special Education Teachers to work in a dynamic school environment for the 2026-2027 academic year! These contract positions are located near Lafayette, AL, and offer the chance to positively impact the lives of students across a range of ages and needs. Excellent support is provided by paraprofessionals in each classroom.
Positions available:
PreK Special Education Teacher for an inclusion class of up to 18 four-year-olds, including both students with IEPs and typical peers. Two paraprofessionals assist, and the classroom operates on EST.
General Education Inclusion Teacher:
Two positions are open, one on CST and one on EST, serving K-5 students in classrooms of 11 or fewer. You'll have the support of two paraprofessionals. Secondary Special Education Teacher for a self-contained class of grades 6-8 (possibly adding grade 5). The class has 5-6 students, not to exceed 10, with two paraprofessionals for assistance; this class also operates on EST.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience or strong interest in working with diverse learning needs Knowledge of IEP process and differentiated instruction Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and general educators Excellent communication and organizational skills Adaptability and compassion for students of varying abilities
