Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity for an experienced Special Education Teacher to make a significant impact in a PreK inclusion classroom for the 2026/2027 school year! This full-time contract position is perfect for an educator who is passionate about early childhood special education and values a collaborative, supportive setting. In this role, you'll work with a diverse group of up to 18 energetic four-year-olds, including both children with IEPs and their typically developing peers. Supported by two dedicated paraprofessionals, you'll create an inclusive environment where every child can thrive. The classroom operates on EST, offering consistency and structure. This is a fantastic chance to positively influence young learners at a critical stage in their development.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification Early childhood or PreK experience required, particularly with inclusion classrooms Background in developing and implementing IEPs Strong collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals, families, and specialists Commitment to fostering a nurturing, differentiated, and inclusive learning environment Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Responsibilities:
Lead a PreK inclusion class with a mix of students, creating lesson plans tailored to diverse needs Work closely with paraprofessionals to deliver effective instruction and classroom support Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed Collaborate with service providers, families, and administration to meet students' educational needs Implement positive behavior supports and adaptive teaching strategies Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate records This is the chance to use your expertise and creativity to inspire young learners and shape their early educational experiences.
