Full Job Description Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide direct instruction to students in various subjects, including literacy, math, and science
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique learning needs of each student
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to create a supportive learning environment
- Conduct assessments and track student progress to inform instructional decisions
- Utilize behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development
- Implement early intervention strategies for students who require additional support
- Provide speech therapy services to students with communication disorders
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Experience in conducting assessments and using data to inform instructional decisions
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of early intervention strategies for young learners with special needs
- Familiarity with literacy education techniques for students with learning disabilities
- Understanding of childhood development milestones and appropriate instructional approaches
- Collaboration skills to work effectively with other educators, parents, and specialists
- Knowledge of child welfare policies and procedures related to special education services
