Qualifications:
Current Special Education licensure, verifiable through the Alabama Educator Certification portal Demonstrated experience or training in special education, particularly with elementary and/or middle school populations Ability to thrive in a self-contained, resource, or inclusion classroom environment Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction to students with a range of disabilities, tailoring lessons to individualized education plans (IEPs) Maintain accurate, ongoing documentation of student progress and IEP goals Collaborate with general education teachers and support personnel to ensure inclusive and effective environments Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities Adapt materials and teaching strategies to ensure accessibility for all learners
