K9 - Care Specialist - ALABAMA

K-9 Care Specialist (Kennel Technician) Big Dog Ranch Rescue is a one-of-a-kind dog rescue facility located in Shorter, Alabama. We are looking for an experienced K-9 Care Specialist. To qualify for this role, the candidate must have a positive attitude and a genuine love for dogs of all shapes and sizes. In this role, you do more than cleaning and disinfecting our kennels

• you will also learn animal care and behavior basics while assisting our team with feeding, and walking tasks.

Having previous experience in a pet care environment or kennel management is a plus, but we will provide training to the right candidate. Duties and Responsibilities Clean and disinfect the dog rooms and kennels Provide dogs with food and water according to our feeding schedule Give dogs in our care their medication as directed by veterinarians and vet techs. Walk and play with the dogs Help with bathing and grooming tasks as needed Abide by all BDRR operational policies and procedures May be asked to fill in on an emergency basis if needed. Execute all operation processes and procedures (SOP) Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Work Environment/Physical Demands Ability to move throughout the ranch for extended periods of time Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED certificate Experience providing animal care (1-2 years highly preferred) Must love dogs A flexible schedule Physical ability to work with, dogs of various breeds and sizes.
