Job Description

Make an impact in the lives of students with disabilities as a Special Education Teacher serving the K-6 population near Troy, AL. This contract position offers the chance to collaborate with a supportive team and make a difference every day. You'll be working with both collaborative teaching groups and self-contained multi-needs students, creating engaging learning experiences tailored to individual student needs.
What We're Looking For:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility) for K-6 in Alabama Experience working with elementary students, particularly in collaborative or self-contained classroom settings Strong communication, adaptability, and organizational skills Passion for empowering students with diverse learning challenges Ability to develop and implement IEPs and work effectively with families and team members
Role Highlights:
Full-time schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday Serve elementary-aged students (K-6) in both collaborative and self-contained environments Manage and provide specialized instruction for a caseload spanning a variety of learning needs Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence
