Job Description
Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly. American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for Visual Arts Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year for our campuses located in the East Valley . Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Implement a comprehensive art curriculum that covers various art forms, techniques, and historical contexts. Create engaging lesson plans that cater to different skill levels and learning styles. Incorporate a variety of media and artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media. Teach art classes using diverse instructional methods, such as demonstrations, hands-on activities, and group projects. Guide students through the creative process, including concept development, technique application, and critique. Foster an environment where students feel encouraged to experiment and express their creativity. Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students' artistic skills, creativity, and understanding of art concepts. Provide constructive feedback on student work, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying levels of skill and special educational needs. Provide additional support and resources to students who require extra assistance with their art projects. Create a stimulating and inspiring classroom environment that encourages students to develop and express their artistic abilities. Organize and facilitate art-related activities, such as exhibitions, art fairs, and community art projects. Encourage students to explore their personal artistic interests and styles. Stay current with developments in art education, techniques, and trends through professional development opportunities. Attend workshops, conferences, and exhibitions to enhance teaching skills and artistic knowledge. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the art curriculum development. Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns. Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student achievements, challenges, and development. Communicate expectations, assignments, and feedback clearly to students. Participate in school meetings, committees, and other professional activities as required. Prepare and submit reports, lesson plans, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
