Job Goal:
The Classroom Teacher guides students toward achieving their full potential by transforming district curriculum standards into engaging and meaningful learning experiences. Through effective instruction and specialized assignments, the teacher promotes academic growth and personal development. This role upholds Chandler Unified School District's mission and vision by fostering an equitable, safe, and supportive learning environment that challenges and empowers all learners. Teachers in this position will teach a specified Career Technical Education (CTE) class for grades 9 - 12 in construction including but not limited to: Safety Construction math skills Construction documents and technology Hand, power, and pneumatic tools Masonry work Floor and ceiling framing Interior and exterior wall framing Roof framing and finishing Green building sustainability Exterior finishes, interior trim and stairs Piping, waste, and venting systems Electrical components/systems Interior wall and ceiling finish Prepare, place and finish concrete
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid State of Arizona CTE Teaching Certificate - Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies, OR Specialized Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Degree in education and/or industry experience as it relates to Construction Technologies Experience with Career and Technical Education desired Industry Credentials in OSHA 10, National Center for Construction Education Research (NCCER), Woodwork Career Alliance Passport, and/or Career Connections preferred Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with industry tools and machines Demonstrated knowledge of instructional practices that support student centered learning Demonstrated ability to lead hands-on activities to reinforce concepts

Communicates learning goals and objectives to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language Prepares and delivers instruction aligned to approved curriculum, state and district standards, and responsive to diverse learning styles, abilities, interests, and special needs Develops lesson plans describing daily learning experiences correlated with curriculum goals and objectives Uses effective teaching strategies, materials, and available technology to enhance learning Monitors, assesses, and uses district/state data to improve instruction, provide feedback, and place students in appropriate instructional or intervention programs Implements research-based instructional practices and effectively carries out Individual Education Plans (IEPs) Diagnoses and addresses individual student needs, seeking support from specialists when necessary Establishes and maintains a positive classroom environment with appropriate routines, expectations, and behavior management practices Assists in implementing school policies and promotes appropriate student behavior through fair and consistent procedures Documents and addresses student behavior, attendance, and related concerns Participates in intervention processes and team reviews to support student achievement, particularly for low-performing students Maintains accurate, complete, and compliant records in accordance with legal and district requirements Ensures student safety by supervising students and taking reasonable precautions to protect people, equipment, materials, and facilities Communicates effectively and professionally with colleagues, students, parents, and community stakeholders Participates in school-wide events, department meetings, district initiatives, parent conferences, and collaborative activities Supports recruitment efforts and engages with advisory committees and stakeholders as applicable Demonstrates expertise in content area (e.g., construction) and oversees relevant student organizations (e.g., SkillsUSA) Creates learning experiences that support students' personal growth, life skills, decision-making, and self-development Reflects on teaching practices and strives for continuous professional growth Fulfills additional responsibilities assigned by administration, including committee work, student activities, supervision, and other professional duties Adheres to district philosophy, policies, regulations, and procedures, and meets all additional job requirements

Physical Requirements:
